Privacy Policy

SLANGR ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by TrevBeats Multimedia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the SLANGR iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the SLANGR service:

Photos & Camera: When you use the Identify or Serial Lookup features, images are captured or selected from your library and sent to our secure backend for AI-based gear identification. Photos are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers.
Seller Profile Information: Name, city, state, phone number, email address, and payment preferences you enter in the Profile tab. This data is stored locally on your device using iOS AppStorage and is never uploaded to our servers unless you choose to include it in a listing.
Reverb API Token: If you connect a Reverb account, your personal access token is stored locally on your device only. We never transmit it to our servers except when making Reverb API calls on your behalf.
Serial Numbers: When you use the Serial Lookup feature, the serial number and optional brand hint are sent to our backend for identification. This data is not logged or retained.

2. How We Use Your Information

To identify musical instruments and pro audio gear from photos using AI
To generate sell listings and ad copy tailored to your gear and seller profile
To post listings to Reverb on your behalf when you request it
To look up gear details from serial numbers

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the core features of SLANGR.

3. Third-Party Services

SLANGR uses the following third-party services to operate:

Anthropic (Claude AI): Images and text are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for gear identification and ad copy generation. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed through their API. Anthropic does not use API data to train models.
Reverb: If you choose to post a listing, your listing data is transmitted to Reverb's API using your personal access token. Reverb's own privacy policy governs how they handle that data.
Netlify: Our backend functions are hosted on Netlify. Function logs may contain request metadata but do not include personally identifiable information.

4. Data Storage & Retention

SLANGR does not operate a user account system or a central database. All personal profile information is stored locally on your device. Images sent for identification are processed in transit and are not retained on our backend. We do not maintain logs of individual user activity.

5. Camera & Photo Library

SLANGR requests access to your camera and photo library solely to allow you to photograph gear for identification and serial number scanning. We do not access, copy, or store your photo library. Camera and photo access can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera / Photos.

6. Children's Privacy

SLANGR is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

7. Data Security

All communication between the SLANGR app and our backend is transmitted over HTTPS. Reverb tokens stored on your device use iOS's secure AppStorage. We do not store payment information of any kind.

8. Your Rights

Because SLANGR stores your data locally on your device rather than in a central database, you have full control over it at all times:

Delete the app to remove all locally stored profile data
Revoke camera or photo library access in iOS Settings at any time
Disconnect your Reverb token in the Profile tab at any time

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
